日本の算数教科書の英語版/English version of Japanese Mathematics textbook (学校図書/Gakuto)

日下が、筑波大学の礒田正美先生と共に編集長を務めさせて頂いている、学校図書(株)の算数教科書の英語版が出版されました。令和6年度検定済教科書「みんなと学ぶ小学校算数(下)」の英語版です。
日本特有の算数用語の翻訳に関しても細心の注意が払われております。
令和6年度算数教科書の英語版が発刊されているのは今のところ学校図書(株)だけのようです。

The English version of the mathematics textbook, which I (Kusaka) am the chief editor with Professor Masami Isoda from the University of Tsukuba, has been published by Gakuto Co., Ltd. It is the English edition of the certified textbook for the 2024 academic year, “Study with your friends Mathematics.”

Special care has been taken in translating the unique Japanese mathematics terminology. As of now, Gakuto Co., Ltd. appears to be the only publisher offering an English version of the 2024 mathematics textbook.

This textbook is invaluable for children in Japan with roots abroad, students who want to study mathematics in both Japanese and English, schools offering immersion education, and foreign students and researchers interested in studying and researching Japanese mathematics education.
