My name is Yusuke Wakita, a second-year master student in the field of International Educational Cooperation, Global Education Course, Naruto University of Education.
I visited the Republic of Mozambique from August 3 to August 14, 2022 as the Global Teacher Training Program at Naruto University of Education.
The objectives of the program were as follows.
1. To learn about international cooperation and the work with Japanese experts in a technical cooperation project implemented by JICA.
2. To think about the educational situation in developing countries through observation of elementary and junior high school education sites.
Last year, because of the Covid-19 situation, I did not have any opportunity to go abroad. However, this year, thanks to the efforts of my supervisor and the International Services Office, I was able to have this valuable experience. This is my first time to go to Africa in my life. I had a variety of experiences, joining the development of math textbooks in the JICA project, giving a presentation on the characteristics of Japanese-style education at the Mozambique University of Education, and visiting local elementary schools. The capital city of Maputo, where I stayed, had a mild climate and was safe and comfortable. I had the impression that Mozambicans are generous and strong, and that the whole town supports each other.
This experience gave me a concrete image of the work and life in the field of education and international cooperation. I would like to make use of this experience in my studies and career development.

鳴門教育大学院グローバル教育コース国際教育協力分野2年の脇田祐輔です。2022/8/3~8/14に鳴門教育大学令和4年度グローバル教員養成プログラムの教育分野のJICA技術協力プロジェクト視察〈モザンビーク共和国〉に参加しました。目的は、(1) JICAが実施する技術協力プロジェクトの現場視察を通して、国際協力、およびそこで働く日本人専門家の業務について学ぶ。(2) 小学校および中学校の教育現場の視察を通して、開発途上国の教育状況についての課題意識を持つ、の２つです。コロナ渦で昨年度は海外に行く機会がありませんでした。しかし、今年度は先生や国際交流課の方々の尽力のおかげで、このような貴重な経験をさせて頂きました。私にとっては、アフリカに行くことが人生で初めてでした。現地では、算数の教科書開発の現場同行、モザンビーク教育大学で日本型教育の特徴についての発表、現地の小学校訪問など様々な経験をさせて頂きました。滞在していた首都のマプトは気候も穏やかで、治安も良く、快適に過ごすことが出来ました。モザンビーク人は、おおらかでたくましい方が多く、また町全体で支え合って生きているという印象を持ちました。今回の経験から私は教育、国際協力の分野に進むにあたっての仕事面・生活面を具体的にイメージすることが出来ました。今後この経験をどう生かしていくかを考えながら、自身の勉学やキャリア形成に役立てていきたいと思います。
